One of the most popular topics for renters interested in renting one of our Geelong properties is about paying rent.
Your rent is due on the date prior to your lease starting and must be paid weekly or fortnightly in advance. You may choose to pay monthly, in advance. We are vigilant in monitoring arrears and pursuing outstanding money for our Debonair Property Management renter providers.
We will send you an email, SMS, letter via surface mail or call you on the telephone to remind you. It is important that should any unforeseen circumstances arise and you are unable to pay your rental by the due date, that you contact your property manager to discuss the situation. We will then discuss the issue with the renter provider.
Under the Residential Tenancies Act 1997, a renter provider may serve you with a Notice to Vacate if you allow the rent to be overdue by 14 days. We request that direct debit be arranged by you, the renter, from your nominated bank account into our account. If you have difficulties in arranging a Direct Debit, you may speak to your Debonair Property Manager about alternate options for paying rent.
